New Water Policy Initiative

In Australia, governments at all levels, industries and communities are searching for innovative options and solutions to move towards a profitable and sustainable future for the region.

Charles Sturt University and CSIRO Land and Water have taken the lead to enhance the region's capacity to manage its natural resources. Under the initiative, three new professorial positions have been established at Charles Sturt University:

  • Chair in Hydrology, Wagga Wagga
  • Chair in Water Policy, Wagga Wagga
  • Chair in Inegrated Environmental Management, Albury

The three positions will work with existing staff and resources to develop options and solutions to revolutionise landscape management. This is needed for the long term sustainability of land and water ecosystems in the region.
